A gem in the Algarve
Algarve in the south Portugal has long been known as a gathering point for sun-hungry tourists who travel there from all over the world. And that is understandable, because here you will find golden sandy beaches, beautiful landscapes, warm-hearted people and a rich culture.
Along the coast in Vilamoura you will find a gem called the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Hotel, which houses the exclusive Beach club Purobeach. And here they mix luxury, pleasure and beautiful surroundings in an unforgettable cocktail.
At the elegant and award-winning marina of Vilamoura, the majestic, snow-white hotel towers, framing the many luxurious yachts that gently rock in the secluded harbor. The location is simply breathtaking.
On the other side is the Atlantic, whose dark blue waters invite you for a cooling swim in the Portuguese midday heat.
You can enjoy the same view from your balcony – both the marina and the beautiful sea. There is something very special about waking up to the sight of the sun glistening on the water, and going to bed to the sound of waves lapping.

If you want to relax in exclusive surroundings, Purobeach is the right choice. As the first – and currently only – place in Portugal, you will only find this exclusive lounge concept at the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Hotel.
One of the two Purobeach areas, Poolside, lies quietly by itself in a small garden surrounded by trees. This oasis is for adult guests only, and here there is an extremely lively atmosphere. White beach beds frame the emerald pool, where visitors enjoy colorful drinks from the bar while soft lounge rhythms flow from the DJ desk.
The elegant bohemian style is a feast for the eyes, and it's just a matter of leaning back in the soft mattress and allowing yourself to laze around. The attentive waitresses continuously provide refreshments in the form of delicious fruit and cold drinking water for the thirsty, and here you will find that nothing is missing.
You can easily spend many hours just relaxing in the sun, taking a dip in the cool pool, falling asleep to a massage and enjoying the music. As you can probably sense, you quickly get the feeling of being really spoiled.
Poolside is open from April to September, and in the summer months it is also the place for fun parties and cozy dinners, which extend into the balmy evening hours.
If you dream of experiencing the golden shores of the Algarve, you must also visit Purobeach's other area, Beachfront. On the other side of the hotel you will find the same white sunbeds, which with an unobstructed view of the dark blue Atlantic invite you to a relaxing beach day.
Here, the pace is calm, and despite the muted lounge music, you can still hear the roar of the waves and relax in the sun with a book.
The adorable parasols provide shade from the sharp rays, which can sting the skin over dinner. The light breeze makes the heat bearable, but that doesn't stop you from sprinting the few meters from the sunbed down to havet, and take a refreshing dip in the cool water.
Gastronomic well-being at Tivoli Marina Vilamoura
When hunger strikes, you can retire to the exclusive Purobeach Beach club, which is located just behind the beach area. Here you can go on a taste discovery in a gourmet kitchen that is inspired by delicious dishes from all over the world - from Miami and Melbourne to Marrakesh.
The decor in the restaurant is also white and stylish, and creates a complete common thread between Purobeach's other facilities. It is a blissful experience to see the sun paint the evening sky red through the restaurant's large windows, while enjoying a glass of champagne and a good meal.
In fact, the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Hotel itself is a mecca for food-loving guests, and the hotel houses a total of eight different restaurants, each of which has something special to offer.
On the north-facing terrace you will find, for example, the fine Pepper's Steakhouse, which, as the name indicates, serves tender steaks together with a glass of delicious Portuguese wine.
At the cozy Restaurant Oregano, you can enjoy everything from good from the sea, where local ingredients from land and water adorn the menu. Here you can really taste the Portuguese cuisine.
Glee Boutique Café exudes Parisian charm and can definitely be recommended. Here you can enjoy one afternoon teaserving, where macaroons, eclairs and other beautiful delicacies are served on elegant cake stands.
Here you can feel a bit like a royal - but you also have to when you are on holiday in the Algarve.
Day tripin the Algarve
Although Tivoli Marina and Purobeach entice with luxury and relaxation, it is also good to get out and see a bit of the Algarve. There is plenty to experience in the surrounding areas on a day trip.
The charming little coastal town of Faro is definitely worth a visit. It takes no more than 45 minutes by car to get there, and you can easily spend a whole day – or two – exploring the city.
Faro is particularly known for its rich cultural heritage and small cobbled streets that exude coziness.
The old town, Cidade Velha, is one must for history buffs. Here you can lose yourself in beautiful cathedrals and admire the impressive city gate, Arco da Vila. It is a pleasure to stroll through the small alleys, where brightly colored flowers and details on the brickwork make the streets look like an idyllic painting.
If you would like to dig deeper into the history and culture of the region, it is definitely worth checking out the Faros Archaeological Museum.
In Faro there is also a sea of restaurants with plenty of authentic Portuguese food.
The country's cuisine is naturally characterized by its location by the sea, and the smell of fried fish hits the nose from time to time as you move around. You don't have to look far for a good lunch or an exquisite dinner. In fact, it is probably in the Algarve that you can find some of the most exquisite and tasty fish dishes.
That's why you don't have to cheat yourself to taste both delicious steamed monkfish, whole roasted squid and other delicate stews with freshly caught fish and local vegetables.
As you can probably sense, Faro has a lot to offer despite its small size. It is definitely a visit worth considering when you are staying at the luxurious Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Hotel.
In addition, Portugal is also particularly known for its wines.
It is of course possible to get out and visit the wine districts on organized tours, and spend the day moistening the palate in beautiful surroundings. You can choose to look for different organizers yourself or ask the hotel for help in finding the best excursion for you.
The Algarve is one of the best-known holiday destinations in southern Europe, and there is certainly a reason for that, because there are many beautiful places and many experiences to be had.
