Schladming-Dachstein - what in the world is that?
Schladming-Dachstein is a wonderful holiday destination in the central Austria for the whole family. With the many different activities you can put together the perfect program. Whether you are for excitement and high tempo or for relaxation and coziness.
The scenic surroundings of Schladming-Dachstein in Austria are not only breathtaking views, but also the focal point of the many family-friendly activities and sights. Mountain peaks, mountain lakes and alpine valleys form the backdrop for adventurous trails, hiking trails, ski slopes and more.

On adventures in the fairytale forests
In Rohrmoos - a 10-minute drive from Schladming - is the Märchenweg adventure trail. Here, children and childish souls can go exploring and meet familiar fairy tale characters carved in wood and painted so we can get to know them.
Along the route, various items are listed. Here you can get started with activities from children's imaginative universe. You can, for example, test drive the car from Flintstones, pay a visit to the witch from Hans and Grete, float on the Floating Fox's cable car and numerous other colorful inventions.
Archaeological walk in Schladming-Dachstein
If you are more into historical stories, there is an 'archeological hiking trail' at the Burgstall in Ramsau am Dachstein. Here, both children and adults can embark on the fortifications of the past, castles and hilly terrain. A safe tour, which will no doubt arouse the prehistoric interest of the little pods.
The excavation was established in 1997. Using signage along the route, archaeologists curious will experience the migrations of the time, which led to the disappearance of Roman culture and the Latin people in the fourth century. The route goes close past the waterfall Luserwasserfall, which is also worth a visit.

Adrenaline rush on land and at sea
Just a 15-minute drive from Schladming you will find the nerve-wracking Rittisberg Rollercoaster. With a length of 1300 meters and a top speed of 40 km per hour, there is room for ecstatic howls and laughter from juniors all the way down to 3 years. If the young are less than 125 cm in height, however, they must be accompanied by an adult.
The river Enns, which stretches from Mandling to Schladming, is ideal for river rafting. Surrounded by lush forest and flashes of light sneaking in between the treetops at the water’s edge, the stage is set at 10 kilometers, impressing both aesthetically and sources in the stomach.
In and around Schladming-Dachstein there is a sea of holiday apartments, hotels and cottages. And also campsites like Dachstein Camping, located in Ramsau Hierzegg only 2 km from Dachsteinstrasse leading to the majestic Dachstein glacier.
Here there are views of mountains, forests and forest lakes and good opportunities for the whole family to frolic in the unspoiled nature.
For it active family there are hiking, mountain biking or cross country skiing. And for the little ones, depending on the season, there are 'mountain go-karts' or toboggan runs.

Climbing in the woods near Schladming-Dachstein
In Gröbming - 20 minutes from Schladming-Dachstein - is the Abenteuerpark. Here, children up to the age of three can climb around the outdoor climbing park.
A guide teaches the children how to use equipment and how to take care of themselves, so that they can throw themselves fearlessly into climbing between the trees. Everyone wears seat belts, and special lanes have been installed for children, where parents can follow the lane from the forest floor. For the little ones there are playgrounds, climbing frames and play areas.
