Sloane Street Deli - Cafes in London - travel

Start the day at one of the delicious cafés in London

On the corner of Sloane St. and Ellis St. in London is the cozy Sloane Street Deli. Here are small four-person tables and seating at the window bar. The room is large and bright, and at the entrance there are glass showcases with beautiful and tasty cakes.

Their breakfast menu is versatile and you will find healthy juices and great smoothies. There were three of us who chose different dishes and everything was for UG. Here soft-boiled eggs, yogurt with granola were eaten, Eggs Benedict, a wonderful cheese board with home-baked crispbread and bread sticks.

Their coffee and tea were also top notch and the teapot was with a new refill. They open every day of the week at 9.00.

Pink and glitter - right to Instagram

Sloane Street, on which the café is located, is a good starting point for a nice walk after breakfast. The street has countless small side streets, and boats Islands og Denmark embassy to Great Britain is here too.

400 meters behind the cafe is the slightly fashionable neighborhood Belgravia with beautiful buildings, churches, a large park and then a really pink girl cafe: ELAN. The café chain, which can be found in several places in London, and which can often be seen on Instagram, makes the most of the decor, where there is both glitter and flower walls and ceilings.

ELAN's hot drinks have exotic names like Black Magic Latte, which comes with mica, and Lucky Charms with marshmallows of the same name. And for those with a heavy purse, there is the coffee with crushed gems. The place should be visited!

Experience London on a budget

Two Danish cafés in London

Our son, Niklaas, lives and works in London and we are introduced to new cafes and restaurants with each visit. This time he wanted to strike a blow for Denmark and took us to two popular Danish places.

The Danish-owned coffee bar Hagen Espresso Bar in Chelsea is known for its very tasty coffees and "Danish cosiness". The garden has 12 seats and as many standing places. The place is frequently visited. We chose two different coffees, a hot chocolate and their lemon shortbread with blue birches - everything tasted good.

The garden opens at 7 am on weekdays and 8 am on weekends. On the same street, Kings Road, you can also visit Joe and the Juice, Chelsea Old Town and a Marks & Spencer.

Homely coziness in the middle of London

In Notting Hill is the Danish café Snaps & Rye. Here, too, there is a good turnout, and we had fortunately booked a table for breakfast on a Saturday, when Portobello Road's huge flea and artist market was well underway.

The café has a nice Danish atmosphere with Danish posters on the walls, skins on the chairs and various Danish porcelain for serving. There is room for about 45 people, and by one of the walls is a large bookcase with Danish products, such as jam from Den Gamle Fabrik and books about Danish cosiness. The bookcase was diligently studied by the guests.

The menu offers various breakfast and brunch delicacies and a good selection of Danish open sandwiches and various pastries. The café opens at 9 am.

When you are done with the visit, just put on your walking shoes and then otherwise around the neighborhood and see whimsical shops; the bookstore from the movie Notting Hill and the many beautiful pastel colored buildings.

Have a nice trip London!
