The fast bike route

St Johann in Tirol and the immediate vicinity is an obvious place to get out and get on the pedals. Here you get four bids on bike routes that can do something extra.

The route on the Kitbüheler Horn mountain opened in 2017 and is perfect for both beginners and experts. The route is no more than 4,2 kilometers long and starts relatively easily, after which it winds through the forest via hills and ramparts. The last 150 meters are especially beautiful with views of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains and the Leukental Valley.

Cycling holiday for the experienced cyclists

Breathtakingly scenic - but demanding - 45 kilometers. This is where the trip starts in St. Johann and ends in Walchsee. You follow the path via the valley to the north before leading up through dense forest behind Erpfendor.

On this trip you take the gondola up to the top where a great view awaits. The trip down winds towards the valley and the mountain Riedberg with panoramic views, before finally reaching the cozy village of Walchsee. The city is located by a lake of the same name, where after the almost 45 kilometers of cycling you can conveniently take a rest or cool off.

The difficult stage

The 56 kilometer long stage begins in Kössen and ends in Kitzbühel. Before you reach the scenic Kitzbüheler Horn, you have to climb 1900 meters havets surface.

Although the route is steep and demanding, you can enjoy the stunning alpine landscape as a reward. Along the way you have the panoramic view of the impressive Kitzbühel Alps. Part of the route takes you through the tour route for the official “Tour of Austria”, which is the country's largest and most prestigious cycling race.

The flat paths along the river Großache are an adventure for all ages.

This family-friendly bike ride runs from the Großache River to Kirchdorf and is about 7 kilometers long. It is easy to combine with other routes and tours in the area.

Along the route there are lookout points overlooking the extraordinarily beautiful landscape. If you need to rest or want to enjoy a lunch, you can use the tables and benches that are set up for the purpose.
