Air India - an obvious choice

Danish connections to India for 400 years
You might immediately think that India and Denmark are very far apart on many parameters, but there has been close contact for many years. In 1618, a treaty was signed between Denmark and India, establishing an alliance between the two countries. After this, Fort Dansborg was built in Tranquebar close to the current city of Chennai, which was previously called Madras.
In 1755, the connections expanded from southern India to northern India, where the village of Serampore in Bengal near present-day Kolkata - or Calcutta - was transferred to Denmark as a colony. The colony came to be called Frederiksnagore. A Danish university was built in Serampore in 1829 and still operates today.
There is still an intensive trade between Denmark and India, and it therefore also makes good sense to have a direct flight route, which the rest of us can also benefit from.
