Having visited Argentina 11 times over the past 11 years, I am now bubbling over with obvious travel destinations in the almost perfect travel country.

Here comes an insider's guide and lots of great pictures that show how versatile a travel country Argentina is.

Argentina is a world-class travel destination

Few countries can boast of having as many world-class attractions and experiences as this country has.

The Iguazu National Park, which is the world's most beautiful - according to several travellers, at least. Ushuaia, the world's southernmost city. The highest mountain in the world outside the Himalayas, Aconcagua. The largest penguin colonies in the world at Valdes. A famous food and wine culture. A capital that never sleeps. A unique football culture.

In addition, huge swamp areas with a completely unique wildlife. Wild desert areas flowing with strange rocks and dinosaur skeletons. An expanded infrastructure for travelers. And not least a hospitable population and value for money.

You can explore the great country in many ways. Try one road trip on Route 40 - the country's version of the American Route 66.

Route 40 runs through wild landscapes and beautiful colonial cities from the border with Bolivia in the north to Patagonia in the south, which among other things offers El Calafate and the beautiful glacier Perito Moreno Glacier.

And otherwise there is also a finely meshed network of good domestic flights and some of the best long-distance buses you can imagine.

If you want a great experience, try to experience the original - and still vibrant - country culture of a functioning mansion, a stay with cattle.

However, you have to go some distance from the city to find really authentic places, as the ground on the damp pampas just around Buenos Aires is far too fertile to waste on ordinary cattle. There are quite a few authentic ones stays at a distance of 100 kilometers from Buenos Aires, and also look around Corrientes in the north or at Mendoza, Salta and the other mountain towns.

If time is short and you don't have much time left before you have to leave, you can visit San Antonio de Areco just north of Buenos Aires.

This fine village is the most traditional of the villages close to Buenos Aires, and shows and competitions are regularly held here, where the local cowboys - called gauchos - show off their abilities.

Camping in Argentine

The country reportedly has the highest number of campsites in the world per. inhabitant. And it should probably fit, because there are plenty of private and municipal campsites that are also used for picnics by the locals on the weekends.

So if you like being out in nature, is camping an excellent and cheap way to travel around.

Throw yourself into the Spanish words

Argentines are possibly the ones who are best at English in their part of the world, for English language teaching is integrated in many schools for example in mathematics teaching.

That said, there are also some who do not feel comfortable speaking English because they do not hear and speak it as often.

So learn a few small words in Spanish, throw yourself into your best 'garbage Spanish' and everyone is happy.

Summer in winter - the best travel months in Argentina

This beautiful country is an obvious destination all year round due to the many climate zones and altitude differences. For example, was it something with a ski holiday in July? Or a beach holiday in January?

November, December and March are all obvious months with nice weather, and January and February can also be fantastic from Buenos Aires and south. If you are not into humid heat, you should try to avoid the high summer in January and February, because Buenos Aires gets quite humid hot.

April and partly May also have its charm with cooler weather and high sun in Buenos Aires, while it may snow well in July, although the weather in the middle of the day is usually at least 10 degrees and there is a lot of rain in August. If you're going to Patagonia, is January high season, with perfect weather to travel in.

If you can choose and go both south and north, then I can recommend three weeks in November or from the beginning of March. The Argentines even take long summer vacations Jul and until late February, and many travel in their own country, which means that they may be full good hotels around during that period.

It also means that there is not as much going on in Buenos Aires as one would expect around New Year and in January. So it's a somewhat more peaceful experience there, even though it's still a city that never really sleeps.

Whatever you choose, you should definitely get a great ride. It is not without reason that this country won the title as South America's best travel country.
