The country's best golf courses

It is a very special experience to walk around in the fresh air with the Alps as a backdrop for a game of golf. Whether you are a beginner or a golf star, there are great experiences waiting for a golf trip to Austria.

In the state of Tyrol there are 21 golf courses offering different terrains and levels of difficulty. However, they all have in common that they are located in beautiful Austrian nature. So there is ample opportunity for challenging golf in Tyrol.

Golf Eichenheim, located in Kitzbühel at the foot of the Alps is an obvious choice. In 2015, the golf course was named the best in the country. The on-site 18-hole course offers a varied experience for any seasoned golfer.

When you are not on the field, you can appropriately refine yours drive at the Eichenheims driving range or buy yourself poor in golf equipment in the professional golf shop.

You can also just relax at the beautiful accompanying hotel. Here you can get right down to gear in the award-winning spa, which the place also boasts of.

Golf in scenic surroundings in Tyrol

Another great place to play golf in Tyrol is golf club Achensee. It is the oldest golf club in Tyrol and one of the first established in Austria at all.

The golf club is located in beautiful surroundings between the magnificent Karwendel Mountains and Lake Achensee. The course has been gradually improved and upgraded so that it is now one of Europe's best.

Golf Club Achensee offers a good 18-hole course, a driving range and a recognized golf school. There is no hotel affiliated with the golf club. However, it is recommended to stay at the beautiful 4-star Hotel Sonnenhof during your stay to get the ultimate experience.

The hotel is only 400 meters from the course. It has both nicely decorated rooms and a wonderful gourmet restaurant that offers a good opportunity to recharge between rounds of golf.

Relaxation and activities in the nature of Tyrol

In addition to golf, Tyrol is also known for its good walking and cycling routes in the beautiful terrain as well as spa and wellness facilities. You can explore them with good reason when you are not active on the golf course.

Tyrol and other parts of Austria also offer other activities for both children and adults of different activity levels: Bathing holidays, cycling holidays, cultural holidays, day holidays, gourmet holidays - Austria has it all. You can easily take the rest of the family to golf in Tyrol - even if they would rather do something else.
