5 things to know about Monterrey before you travel

Mexico, chili, tequila, passport

Monterrey is one of Mexico's richest cities, and at the same time a very safe place to be. The Mexican metropolis is the third most populous city in Mexico, and is known, among other things, for its industry for the production of shoes, steel, cement and beer! There are undoubtedly plenty of experiences waiting in Monterrey, and here are five things you need to know before you set off.

Museums

The Art Museum “Marco” in the center of the city of Monterrey in northern Mexico is a genuine and beautiful modern museum, which has just housed an exhibition of eccentric Frida Kahlo's unique paintings, and the museum has a large art shop. In addition, there is a strip of new museums gathered near the pedestrian zone, and there is free admission to several of them.

2. Mountains

Outside Monterrey's 3-million-strong neighborhoods, the beautiful mountains begin, which have given the city its name, which can be translated with good will into “king of the mountains”. One of them is Saddlebjerget, which is the city's landmark. You can also hike in very deep limestone caves.
