Rove La Mer Beach Hotel Dubai: Hotel check-in

Rove La Mer Beach Hotel Dubai: Hotel check-in is written by Jacob Gowland Jørgensen.

Arriving at a hotel at night

The receptionist looks a bit confused as I try to check in at the hotel because I obviously am not on the list.

The clock has passed midnight in Dubai, and I left home around lunchtime, so I'm getting pretty ready to see duvets, but right now it's not looking that easy.

He then smiles and says that there is more than one Rove hotel, so I wonder if I have been booked into another hotel? The hard truth comes to mind: I simply got the hotel name wrong…

10 minutes later I arrive at the Rove La Mer Beach Hotel in Dubai.

It is now 2 o'clock at night, and luckily it goes easily and smoothly to check into the colorful lobby, and a little later my head lands on the soft pillow.

Colors with colors on at Rove La Mer Beach Hotel

I list down in the breakfast restaurant and find a vacant corner on the long tables. Everything here is in color - in the good way. The food, the decor, the guests - everything is colorful, urban and actually quite cozy. Here are groups of friends, couples on a romantic holiday and some families.

The atmosphere is light and cheerful. Here it's holiday time.

There are clear indications of when it is busiest here in the restaurant and of course told with beach metaphors. This first day I have landed in the middle of "A big wave", and yet it goes well to get food and space for everyone.

La mer beach

Rove Hotel is beautifully located right on La Mer Beach and it fits perfectly with such a beach hotel.

It is the only hotel out here, about 4 kilometers from the center, but here is certainly not boring, because the beach itself is built with a promenade with small restaurants, ice cream parlors and at the very back a water park and a small center with activities.

I wander around while I can feel the stress of the journey disappear from my body and a new calm descend.

Everything here is made with one purpose: To be able to enjoy the beach life without having to move away from the area. Here the locals also come both during the day and in the evening. And here is actually quite nice to walk in the sunset.

I personally had never imagined that Dubai could do this too, but La Mer Beach is really a nice place to be. The water is warm and calm and the sand is fine and there is plenty of it.

This is real beach vacation.

A warm evening under the full moon

Some of what I love most about going to hot places are the balmy evenings.

Rove La Mer Beach Hotel has a formidable terrace with ample space and pool areas. All with a wild view of the beach and with Dubai skyline in the background.

Here I ate some really delicious and budget-friendly dinner while enjoying the view. It was 27 degrees, so it was in shorts, sandals and a t-shirt - like most others in the hotel.

Back in the room, I enjoy the view for the last time before Ole Lukøje announces his arrival. The room is simple, nice and very functional and there is complete tranquility.

Rove La Mer Beach Hotel

On Tripadvisor, the hotel is at a nice 4,5 / 5, which is certainly understandable. It opened in December 2020 and it is quite clear that it is a very well-functioning hotel.

So if you're looking for a budget-friendly, modern and vibrant hotel overlooking the city's beaches, it's a pretty good deal, and it's easy to combine with the other Rove hotels in Dubai.

Just remember which Rove hotel you have booked into - it makes it all a little easier…
