Visa to Thailand: Remember the new rules!

Thailand is an extremely popular holiday destination for many Danes who want to experience a completely new culture mixed with a fantastic tropical paradise. In fact, Bangkok the most searched destination outside Europe for Danes!

If you are planning a trip to the “Land of Smiles”, it is probably a good idea to read here. There is important travel news regarding visas to Thailand.

Because from May 1, 2025, it will be mandatory for all foreign nationals traveling into the country to fill out the so-called TM6 form.

The form is intended to help the Thai government track tourists while they are in Thailand, and it should help increase confidence in safety, according to the Thai Ministry of Tourism. according to the Bangkok Post.

However, it will also be easier for those of you who travel to the “Land of Smiles.” With the digital TM6 form, entering the country should also become a more streamlined process.

The TM6 form was temporarily paused on April 15, 2024, but that pause now expires on April 30, 2025, and therefore you now need to apply before arrival.

A digital version replaces the old paper version, and includes, among other things, that tourists must provide their address during their stay.

The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also created a page with travel information. and links to the official Thai pages.

It will not cost you anything to fill out the form, as it does when you apply for a visa to the USA or the UK, but you must remember to do it before arrival.
