Russia

Russia really is a huge country where you can really get far. Most people know about the Trans-Siberian Railway, which draws a line through the vast open spaces from the capital Moscow in the west to Mongolia, China and the most remote Russian regions in the east.

Moscow has developed into Europe's largest city, and there is plenty to get started on. History is constantly just around the corner and under your feet in both Moscow and the historic capital of St. Petersburg, and Russia in general, is at the center of historical events of all kinds.

Outside the well-known big cities, countless ethnic groups live their special lives, and one of the great attractions in Russia is precisely the daily life. Wherever you travel, you will meet fascinating people with fascinating customs and traditions that have survived despite the vicissitudes of history.

Russia is hosting the football World Cup in the summer of 2018, and this gives many thousands of fans, spectators and guests the opportunity to get around and see different parts of Russia than they would otherwise choose. See more about how to get to the football World Cup in Russia here our guide.
