More holidays, thank you!

Don't you think there is enough vacation out of the 52 long weeks the year offers? Fortunately, we are more than one who feels this way.

I realize that there are those lucky enough to get many weeks of vacation a year, but there are also the rest of us regular five-week vacation types who damn well want more.

I have tried to give my opinion on how you can get a little more holiday incorporated in your life - it may not work for everyone, but you do not get hurt by being inspired.

Free holidays

Use all the glorious holidays of the year. There are as many as 11-12 of this kind every year, so it's not bad at all.

And yes, now I assume that you are one of those who have one of the 'regular' jobs, where you usually have weekends and holidays off and therefore not one of those who save the lives of others in important jobs .

Weekend away

After all, everything doesn't have to be about how far you can get in the shortest time. You can take absolutely superb trips at the weekends, where you don't actually need to take time off at all.

There are so many fantastic opportunities to fly out of Denmark - from both Jutland and Zealand - so leave on Friday and return home on Sunday evening.

And yes, if you want to save a little on the airline front, then there are also great opportunities to take trains. And Europe is amazing; you do not always have to go to South America or Asia to have a great vacation.

Working 9 to 5 - and then a little more

If your workplace allows it, you can advantageously take on extra work for a period.

Either it gives you time off that you can use when you have to go on holiday, or you will probably be paid a nice extra sum of money, which can go straight into your travel account.

Of course, this requires that you must take overtime for your employer.

Divide your vacation

I myself love a long continuous summer holiday, and many employers want you to take time off for longer at a time. But if you are one of those who have to decide for yourself, then it may be a good idea to spread out your holiday a bit.

I'm aware that you have the same number of weeks to do well with, but it can easily seem as if you have more holidays if you have the opportunity to go 3 times a year rather than once a holiday during the summer holidays. .

Then you also get a plus on the vitamin D account several times a year - if you travel to sunny destinations, of course.

Ask nicely

If you really want to travel, ask your employer really nicely. If you have spent all your holiday, you must of course be aware that it is a self-payment, but it can also be something if you really want to travel.

Otherwise, it is in a way a win-win for them that they just save a few weeks' salary if the work is done anyway. And if you are again one of the lucky ones who have a sixth holiday week, ask nicely if it can be transferred to the next holiday year.

In this way, you can save more holiday together or have it paid out so that you can create a holiday account yourself.

Have a good holiday - and remember to get more of it!

As a child, it was on camping trips in Denmark in the summer spiced with slightly more exotic winter destinations. Today, Sascha is bitten by a crazy trip, and can neither collect enough stamps in the passport nor have booked enough trips. There are always at least two trips planned.
Sascha's favorite places in the world count everything from Canada to New York, Botswana and Munich. To put it mildly, there are few places in the world that Sascha does not dream of going to.
