Greece is a particularly good choice if you are planning a holiday outside of the school summer holidays. The weather can be almost unbearable in July and August, with temperatures climbing well above 40 degrees. Greece is therefore perfect in June if you want to avoid the hottest summer heat.
Costa Rica: Summer vacation for nature and animal lovers
The fifth entry on the list is enchanting Costa Rica.
Costa Rica is located in Central America and is an overlooked gem. With a location between Nicaragua to the north and Panama in the south, Costa Rica also gives you easy opportunity to experience even more of the continent.
Costa Rica is a pure paradise of white bounty beaches and colorful rainforest. There are quite a few national parks around. If you are an animal lover, you can make a difference in several places to save the animals either practically or financially. Among other things, you can access Jaguar Rescue Center, where they rescue injured toucans and sloths.
Costa Rica is a small country the size of Denmark. This also means that there is a short distance to the sea on both sides, where the crystal clear blue water beckons for a delicious dip. If your summer holiday 2026 should also be a beach holiday – mixed with some water sports and surfing – then Costa Rica should be on your list.
Although Costa Rica has a rainy season from May to November, the country is still definitely worth a visit during this period. Here, the green country is even more lush. In July, there is less rainfall than at the beginning and end of the rainy season, and July is therefore an ideal month if you want to experience Costa Rica from its most lush side.

The area offers beautiful mountains and a friendly people, but what Cappadocia are really known for are their hot air balloons. Hundreds of colorful balloons float quietly above and between the mountain peaks, giving you the most magnificent view of the national park and the surreal landscapes.
It is reasonably hot in Turkey during the summer months, but if you can handle the heat and can leave early, it's just a matter of leaving this summer.
Croatia: Beach holiday beyond the usual
Our seventh commandment is a little closer, namely beautiful Croatia.
Croatia is perfect for summer. The country offers crystal clear water, beautiful islands and Mediterranean food with lots of flavor. With a coastline of over 600 kilometers and over 1000 islands there is plenty of opportunity to frolic in the sea, sail from island to island and taste everything good from the sea.
If you are looking for culture on your summer holiday, Croatia also has plenty to offer. If you head to Dubrovnik, which is probably one of Croatia's most famous cities, you will find a sea of architectural wonders such as the Fortress of St. John, the Sponza Palace, the Rector's Palace, the Franciscan Monastery and the Dominican Monastery.
In addition, Croatia is also an excellent starting point to visit Balkans and some of the other countries of the former Yugoslavia and environs. Slovenia, Serbia, Hungary og Bosnia Herzegovina borders all of Croatia and is obvious to visit on the way back to Denmark.

Discover Austria, Spain, Ireland, Canada and Tanzania during your summer vacation
Of course, there are also many great opportunities for summer vacation in the rest of the world.
Austria is a country that many associate with ski holidays and snow. But it's also actually a fantastic one travel country for summer. Visit the capital Vienna with all the cultural experiences the city has to offer, or take on drive yourself vacation through the country - perhaps on the way to some of the more southern countries like France, Italian or Portugal.

If you can leave early in the summer, there is the best chance of good weather.
Should you had nature for all the money, then is Canada the ultimate travel destination for your summer trip. Huge natural landscapes, snow-capped mountains, breathtaking lakes and a rich wildlife make it an experience you will remember for a lifetime.
And if you belong to those who just love animal experiences, then is Tanzania the answer. With some of Africa's best national parks and that one world famous tropical island of Zanzibar er Tanzania the answer to your summer vacation plans if you are running around with a desire to see lions, elephants or hippos in its natural surroundings.
