Why should you consider a holiday in Scania?
Vacation in Denmark is always popular, but how about vacationing in what once was Denmark?
About 40 kilometers east of København is the Swedish part of Scania. A part of the country that few people consider when planning a holiday in Sweden. And that might be a mistake.
Because within a manageable area you will find fantastic shopping opportunities, vibrant city life and unique nature experiences. There are also plenty of experiences for children. And then it does not matter that it only takes 40 minutes by train or car from Copenhagen.
Pack the car and take the children on a Scanian everyday adventure. You can also easily play board games, football and badminton in Sweden the whole family together.
City break a stone's throw away
Malmö is Skåne's largest city - and Sweden third largest - and here you will find a large selection of experiences. The city offers, for example, good shopping opportunities in the cozy pedestrian street, where large chains and niche shops are located side by side.
In contrast to København do not zig-zag between tourists, and another plus is the Swedish exchange rate, which means that there is money to be saved. Despite the course, both the Dankort and the feet can need a rest after shopping, and you can get it in the cozy Folkets Park, where there is always something exciting to look at.

Food and museum holiday in Scania
Scania also has a part for the culturally interested and the food-loving. Malmö has a large number of exciting museums and especially the art museum, Moderna Museet, is worth a visit. And thanks to the generous cultural support in Sweden, it's free.
The same applies to the annual Malmö Festival, which is held in August. The city also does not lack cozy cafes and restaurants in all price ranges, and you want to Michelin restaurant, there can be a lot of money to be saved by crossing the Øresund Bridge.

Fantastic nature in Sweden
Here is also a lot for nature enthusiasts. Nature is changeable and hilly with all the best from Sweden: rocks, forests, lakes and beaches… and mosquitoes. Among other things, you can go hiking on Skåneleden and make use of the free shelters and cabins, of which there are several.
On the trip you can drop by one of the area's many farm shops when shopping for dinner. If you are not into hiking, you can drive between the region's many natural viewpoints and enjoy the beautiful Swedish nature.
