The atmosphere at Sichon Cabana Beach Resort is completely relaxed and welcoming.
The family-run resort has been in existence for over 40 years, which is reflected in the personal atmosphere and hospitality. You will likely meet the very friendly family that runs the place, for example if you go on a boat trip out into the bay.
The style is a harmonious blend of modern design and natural materials – wood, stone, sand and green plants are integrated throughout, making you feel close to nature. At the same time, the expression is simple and elegant, with clean lines and lounge music that invites you to kick off your shoes and relax.
The hotel's owners have an idea to create a “Community of Happiness” for guests – a sanctuary where families, couples and friends can find peace and joy together. From the relaxed lobby to the lounge-like restaurant by the beach, it is beautiful, cozy and peaceful.
For the same reason, the hotel is also popular among both older couples and families with children. There are clearly the most guests on weekends and during Thai holidays, for example around Thai New Year - Songkran, while there are few on ordinary weekdays.

Design hotel: From family cottages to luxury suites at Sichon Cabana Beach Resort
The hotel is relatively small with only 31 rooms spread across a number of very different room types, so all guests can find something that suits them.
For example, there are spacious Cabana Family rooms with space for 3–5 people for those traveling with children, and there are exclusive suites for adults only – such as the romantic Honeymoon Seaview Suite of 45 m² with a king-size bed.
For those looking for extra luxury and space, the resort offers a Grand Master Seaview Suite measuring 90 m², from which you can enjoy panoramic views of the sea. All rooms share a very stylish interior design in a bright and modern tropical style with lots of local inspiration.
During the week we stayed at Sichon Cabana we tried two different rooms because one of the “Seaview rooms” became available during our stay and we wanted to try it. First we stayed in a beautiful pool-view room, with a large balcony, relaxation bed and a view of the green area. Then we moved to the beautiful and very modern “Seaview Suite”, where you have a full view of the sea.
No matter where you stay at the resort, you are close to the sea, but having the sea as a view was unique.
You can expect comfortable beds, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, TV and open, elegant bathrooms in all rooms.
Pool and beach in Sichon
When it comes to facilities, Sichon Cabana Beach Resort does not disappoint either - it has everything your heart desires for a beach resort experience.
The resort has a lovely outdoor swimming pool, where both children and adults can splash around or relax on a sunbed under the yellow parasols. The pool is surrounded by lush palm trees and plants and overlooks the stylish hotel, so you can enjoy both design and nature while cooling off.
The beach spreads out right in front of the hotel. A stone's throw from the rooms you have direct access to soft sand and calm sea. Unlike other places along the coast, the depth here only gradually increases, so the water is often calm.
The beach at the design hotel is therefore also known for its clear, clean water and calm waves – perfect for children or for a relaxing swim at sunset. For active guests, the resort also offers a water sports club, where you can try your hand at surfing, windsurfing, paddleboarding and kayaking, among other things.
At the neighboring hotel they rent jet skis, and they also do fun speedboat rides where you can be pulled around on an inflatable mattress with your friends.
The Nakhon Si Thammarat region is beautiful with hilly coastlines that you can enjoy the views of from the beach.
Holidaying in Thailand also means eating well
A stay at Sichon Cabana Beach Resort is also an experience for the taste buds.
The hotel's restaurant is beautifully located by the beach, so you can enjoy your meals with a view of the sea and the sound of the waves in the background.
The restaurant is very stylishly decorated and the open, airy atmosphere makes every meal a pleasure in the tropical heat. The combination of fans and the breeze from the sea makes it a quite pleasant and natural climate to eat in, and there is really nice service from the friendly staff.
There is a large breakfast buffet included, so whether you prefer omelettes, noodles or yogurt, there is plenty to choose from.
The kitchen naturally serves a variety of Thai specialties and freshly caught seafood. You can look forward to tasting all the best from Thai cuisine, such as curries, grilled tiger prawns, papaya salad and lots of delicious snacks.
Surprisingly, there is also a large selection of Western cuisine – despite the fact that there are very few Western tourists. Most visitors are wealthy families and couples from Bangkok, and they want to taste Western food on their vacation, so there is everything from Mexican to Italian.
The hotel also brews their own sodas and root beer of coconuts from their plantation behind the hotel.
The hotel also features the cozy Blue Surf Café, which has delicious coffee, smoothies, great ice cream and cake. In the evening, you can settle down in the hotel's bar area – known as the Sun Seeker Bar – where skilled bartenders mix tropical cocktails.
If you want to try something completely different, there is a street food area a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

A holiday at Sichon Cabana Beach Resort is not just about relaxing by the pool – the sea is right outside your door, providing plenty of opportunities for exciting boat trips and maritime adventures, perfect for both families and couples. The family behind the hotel are water sports enthusiasts themselves, and there is therefore the largest selection of water sports equipment we have seen in recent times.
Sichon Cabana Beach Resort offers a number of flexible options if you want to get out on the water on your own:
- Sea kayaks – perfect for quiet trips along the coast
- Paddleboards – ideal for those who want to test their balance and get some fun exercise in the sun
- Catamarans – for those who want speed and wind in their hair
All activities take place in the calm and shallow sea, making it safe and accessible for both beginners and children. The hotel staff provides life jackets and an introduction to their use, so everyone can feel safe and get off to a good start.
We went on a full-day sailing trip out into the Gulf of Thailand with the family’s son as captain, and it was a fantastic experience. We sailed out and learned to fish with nets and lines – just like the locals have done for generations. For the more adventurous, there is also the option of deep-sea fishing with modern equipment.
One of the most popular boat trips from Sichon is to the charming little island of Koh Madsum, also known as Pig Island, which is where we sailed after fishing. It is home to a herd of tame and curious pigs who roam freely on the beach and greet guests.
It's a very nice experience, and the little pigs are so used to tourists that it's a good experience for everyone. Here we also met a lot of day trippers from Koh Samui, as the island is just off the coast, and coming from the peaceful Sichon with almost no Western tourists, it was a marked change on Pig Island.
From there we sailed out to the smaller islands and reefs in the area, where we swam among colorful coral fish, sea urchins, small rays and living coral reefs in clear and fairly shallow water. There was snorkeling equipment on the boat, although we now brought our own masks.
Snorkeling trips are suitable for both beginners and experienced divers. The calm waters of the Gulf of Thailand make it a safe place for children to try snorkeling for the first time, and many of the reef areas are so shallow that you can see the fish just by standing in the sand with a mask on.
Please note that the most popular snorkeling spot at Pig Island gets very crowded during the high season, but fortunately there are other options.
There are also many other experiences in the local area, such as a national park and a cozy provincial town. Nakhon Si Thammarat has a lot to offer.
Thailand is much more than the famous islands and beaches
There are many good reasons to visit the overlooked Thailand, including getting closer to the always friendly locals and getting a more authentic experience of the fantastic travel country.
