Luxury in Dongdaemun in the middle of Seoul
When you visit a vibrant million city like Seoul i South Korea you need to go out and experience something. And you have to digest the experiences in peace and quiet. The five-star Novotel Ambassador Dongdaemun is a perfect hotel for both.
District Dongdaemun is located in central Seoul surrounded by restaurants, nightlife and not least shopping. Seoul is full of experiences, and Novotel Ambassador Dongdaemun is an experience in itself.
What's better than a cool drink on the roof terrace after a long day? It should just be a cold drink in the pool on the roof terrace. Should it be cool, then of course there is also an indoor pool and wellness - nothing is missing.
The hotel overlooks city life and the beautiful Mount Namsan with the TV tower right in the middle of the city. The evening sun is best enjoyed from above, while the city lights replace the sun.
Top class service
The hotel staff are very helpful, which we noticed ourselves when they helped us with train tickets, which had to be ordered, paid for and printed, and they showed us a very detailed way to a toy market in Dongdaemun, which was otherwise not easy to find - especially not for us who are not rigid in Korean characters.
It is almost necessary to get help with the language when it comes to finding something specific in the megacity, and here the Novotel Ambassador Dongdaemun's staff really showed themselves from the good side. It was worth gold.
Dongdaemun Design Plaza
Dongdaemun is easy to get to as the neighborhood has a whole strip of subway stations and is within walking distance of most of the city center.
Just around the corner is the very special building Dongdaemun Design Plaza, designed by the world-famous architect Zaha Hadid, and it is all in all an exciting neighborhood in the middle between old and new. Old narrow alleys and new shopping palaces are fighting for your attention and there is plenty to go in search of.

The perfect base in Dongdaemun
If you are in the city to walk in the city, the area is obvious. Here you live right in the middle of it all, and if you would rather have a drink or an evening coffee at the hotel, then there are plenty of options for that. There is a café in the living room, a bar on the top and a lounge on the 20th floor.
The breakfast is a nice mix of hot and cold, eastern and western, vegetarian, halal and all kinds of meat, fruit and pastries. Everything you can dream of, and everything in abundant quantities. The setting and the view are excellent by the way.
